What is the SWP Training for Facilitators?

The SWP Training for Facilitators is an online curriculum designed to deeply explore sensory integration across age groups.

Each self-contained module offers around 4 hours of video lessons, blending rich theoretical insights with valuable practical tips. While the SWP exercise cards are intuitive, this training delves deeper, ensuring facilitators grasp the full potential of the method and are adept at leveraging it to maximum effect.

By the end of this program the learner will have a clear knowledge and understanding of The Sensory Work Out Program (SWP) and its foundation in the neurosciences and functional practical approach.

Modules description

Our program brings together a sensory training that can be part of your family’s routine while assisting in the development of life skills.

The Sensory Workout Program (SWP), Children, was specifically developed for children/students from 7 to 18 years of age. The SWP, has its foundation in the brain’s ability to change and adapt because of experiences that are strengthened over time with repetition and practice. The SWP can assist in increasing focus across a variety of environments such as school, sports, tutoring and at home.  This is achieved through the daily use of enjoyable repetitive multisensory exercises while opening the brains neural pathways. There is flexibility in the program to be broken up into shorter, more frequent sessions throughout the day and can be used by a range of facilitators, disciplines, and family members.

The Sensory Workout Program (SWP), Adults, was specifically developed for adults from 18 to 64 years of age. The SWP is extremely accessible and can be used by a variety of facilitators and family members to increase the focus of adults.  Within the SWP there are “Alerting” activities that will begin with providing more sensory input from the environment. The adult follows the recommended sequence of the session with the follow-up exercises including fine motor, self-care, or gross motor. The exercises will prepare the adult to increase his/her functionality across a variety of settings.

The Sensory Workout Program (SWP), Seniors, was specifically developed for seniors aged 65 plus. The SWP for senior can be completed in Assisted Living Facilities, Senior Centers or in the comfort of their home with a caregiver. Some Seniors will need a “Calming Activity” to begin the Sensory Work Out Program (SWP). There are many situations throughout the day that can trigger stress and frustration (sound, touch, noise, light). A Calming Activity will allow for the senior to relax, regulate, and prepare for the next step in the SWP. Upon completion of the SWP, the senior will be prepared to participate in a variety of activities ranging from engaging in group social events to spending treasured time with their family.
